Position
  • Professor
I am a Professor in Special Education in the School of Education. My research explores the development and implementation of brief assessments in mathematics that can be used to monitor student progress. My research in this area has spanned early numeracy (K-1) and middle grades (6-8); my current work explores the development and implementation of measures for beginning algebra. I have directed three federal grants supporting this work and served on the author panels for two IES practice guides related to mathematics, Assisting Students Struggling with Mathematics: Response to Intervention (RtI) for Elementary and Middle Schools, and Teaching Strategies for Improving Algebra Knowledge in Middle and High School Students.
