Chiefly, we will examine common components of the psychotherapy process, models of process and outcome in psychotherapy (e.g., common factors, empirically validated treatments, practice-based evidence), how research is conducted to evaluate process and outcome in psychotherapy (e.g., historical and current findings, strengths and weakness of various methodologies), as well as a general understanding of how certain factors can affect the process and outcome of psychotherapy (e.g., therapist, client and relational variables).
