The Clinical Vascular Research Lab (CVRL) investigates the interaction of aging and exercise on cardiovascular and cerebrovascular function in health and disease across the human lifespan
Our Mission
Improve our understanding and ability to use exercise as medicine to improve vascular aging, and prevent and treat chronic disease.
Our research seeks to
Expand knowledge - We strive to expand our mechanistic understanding of how the health of our arteries influence our heart and brain health.
Strengthen application - We aim to identify vascular mechanisms through which lifestyle behaviors such as exercise can help prevent age-related chronic disease. By identifying these mechanisms we can modify and tailor specific aspects of behavior to maximize benefits for specific populations (e.g. middle-aged adults, clinical populations).
