Mrs. Marena Henkle

Position
  • Former Undergraduate Research Assistant
As an undergraduate student in Genetics, I began as a research assistant in January 2014 in the Baum lab. Since then I have been involved with numerous projects working under the direction of Dr. Gennady Pogorelko, as well as other lab members. My laboratory experience has enabled me to become proficient in many molecular and micro-biology techniques as well as given me the ability to explore multiple disciplines of science that all contribute to the progress of plant pathology research.

The best days at work involve spending time caring for plants in the greenhouse or contributing to research papers through manuscript preparation. After obtaining my Genetics degree, I plan to stay at Iowa State to finish a degree in Vocal Education.

Major: Genetics, Vocal Education
