Projects
My research team conducts research at the intersection of population science, community sociology, and translational science to measure and monitor individual behaviors, population characteristics, and the community context of health and safety. We have several funded health projects centered on behaviors and population health, including substance use prevention and recovery, methamphetamine use, excess alcohol consumption, and physical activity. Community health and safety research includes the alcohol risk environment, road safety and injury prevention, and physical activity-enhancing environmental conditions. We partner with local governments, non-profit groups, and state agencies to use scientific research to promote healthy populations and safe communities.
