Teaching

Data Science

I am affiliated with the data science program at Iowa State University and my teaching responsibilities focus primarily on data science course. I have taught the following courses related to the DS program:

  • DS 303: Concepts and Applications of Machine Learning
  • DS 301: Applied Data Modeling and Predictive Analysis
  • STAT 347: Probability and Statistical Theory for Data Science
  • DS 202: Data Acquisition and Exploratory Data Analysis

My teaching philosophy focuses on bridging both theory and applications. As data science is a rapidly evolving field, my emphasis is on instilling students with strong fundamentals and building blocks that will enable them to pick up new knowledge. I received the Iowa State University Award for
Early Achievement in Teaching and Cassling Family Faculty Award for Early Achievement in Teaching for my efforts in teaching.
