The Leveraging Activities and Partnerships to Address Obesity in Iowa (Iowa LEAP) received funding to implement CDC’s High Obesity Program. The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach (ISU Extension) works with 6 local Extension offices and their partners to: implement evidence-based policy, system, and environmental (PSE) strategies to increase access to healthy food and physical activity, facilitate the development and sustainability of diverse community coalitions, coordinate activities to identify specific settings and populations to engage, and support community planning and prioritization of healthy food and physical activity access strategies that leverage the influence, resources, and partnerships of county and state.
