Overview

(This page remains under construction and will contain links to publications and summaries of specific research interests.)

My group's research involved designing, preparing, and characterizing new inorganic solids with potentially interesting properties by synergistic application of solid-state synthesis, diffraction, and electronic structure theory.  By studying metal-rich compounds, such as intermetallics and transition metal cluster compounds, we sought to understand relationships among chemical composition, atomic structure, physical properties, and chemical bonding.

Solid state chemistry encompasses synthesis, structure, analysis, and bonding.
