We are interested in uncovering gene regulatory networks associated with auxin-dependent growth processes in roots. Using transcriptomics we have reconstructed auxin-dependent GRNs in maize roots (McReynolds et al., 2022) to identify key genetic drivers underlying maize root morphogenesis.
A protocol is available for the community for reconstructing GRNs using transcriptomics, proteomics and/or phosphoproteomics data (Clark et al., 2023).
In addition, we are examining the concept of modularity in Boolean GRNs in collaboration with Claus Kadelka (MATH) via an NSF DMS collaborative grant (Award No. 2423642) using Arabidopsis roots as a test case.
