Bertan Turhan

Position
  • Assistant Professor
I am an assistant professor in the Department of Economics at Iowa State University. I received my Ph.D in Economics in 2015 from Boston College.

My research agenda focuses on the theory and practice of market design and mechanism design with an emphasis on its applications in matching markets. I recently work on the analysis and design of affirmative action policies, theory and applications of matching with contracts, axiomatic properties of resource allocation mechanisms, and experimental analysis in school choice. Practical relevance and policy implications are essential parts of my research.

I teach courses in market design, microeconomic theory, game theory and mathematics at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
