Projects

  • The American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) are a series of examinations and curriculum materials that build problem-solving skills and mathematical knowledge in middle and high school students. Any student in grades 6-12 who likes solving difficult problems is welcome. We will help them develop critical reasoning and creative thinking. We accept 5th graders only if they enjoy challenges and can handle frustration.

  • Math Circles is an outreach program that gives students the opportunity to work on exciting math topics. They explore different techniques of solving problems, pose their own questions and work on more open-ended problems.

  • Sonia Kovalevsky

The Sonia Kovalevsky Day (SK Day) is an event designed to increase middle school girls' interest in mathematics, assist them in the transition between middle school and high school mathematics, encourage them to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM disciplines), and to develop more extensive cooperation with middle schools in their area.

  • The American Mathematical Competition 10/12 Exam A will be hosted at Iowa State University on November 8, 8:00pm-9:15pm in Carver 0268.

Registration is free and will close on October 31st. Parents should register their student here.

It is a multi-step process so after you fill in the form, you (and your student) will receive an email from me to add your student to the AMC registration portal.
