Projects

Here in HenderLab we work on making nanobots out of DNA. Using the breakthrough technology of DNA Origami (Paul Rothemund, 2006) Dr. Divita Mathur constructed a self-assembling multi-ligand nanosensor called "Optimus". Her groundbreaking paper is here (one of 8 she published as a graduate student).

We are currently working on a paradigm-shifting self-assembling nanotechnology for creating DNA nanomedicines that carry camouflaged gene-editing machinery into specific cells in living systems with the bodacious long term goal of curing genetic diseases.
