Highlight your top projects

When writing this page, take care to write short summaries for each of your projects. It's a good idea to keep in mind the following tips when writing about your research.

  • Consider your audience.
  • Images add information and interest. They do not need to be large, just identifiable.
  • Do you have a lab website or did your project get recognized in an ISU article? Remember that you can easily link text in your summary to your lab or news items.

What if I only have one project?

If you have one project that is the focus of your research or teaching, that's great! Use this page to write a more about the project than just a summary.

  • Put the most important information at the top.
  • Break up long paragraphs so your page is easier to read.
  • Organize the page with subheadings that are unique and succinct. Use keywords in your subheadings. This makes your page easier to find in search engines, and easier to read.
  • Use words that most people recognize in an average vocabulary. Your audience may be other researchers, or maybe high school seniors looking to major in an area that relates to your teaching or project.

I don't want a research page

No problem. Just keep this page unpublished. If you want one later, it will be here waiting for you.
