Professor Guermond is currently serving as a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Texas A&M University. His world-respected research, which is supported in part by the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy and the Air Force Oce of Scientific Research, reflects his multidisciplinary education and experience. His research interests include Applied Mathematics, Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing, as well as PDE’s, including the 3D Navier-Stokes equations and those equations which describe magneto-hydrodynamical phenomena. Professor Guermond has co-authored six books, in- cluding the three-volume “Finite Elements Monograph Series”, and has more than 170 re- search papers in peer-reviewed journals. In addition, he currently serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications and International Journal of Numerical Analysis and Modeling as well as an editorial board member for Computers & Mathematics with Applications. Also, he is the recipient of Fellow Awards from the American Mathematical Society and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
