Minds in Context Lab
About the Lab
Our research bridges social, clinical, cognitive, neuroscience, and environmental approaches to psychology, to understand how physical environments and self-regulation intertwine to improve wellbeing and bolster social connection.
Research Questions
How do our everyday surroundings and social contexts influence emotion regulation and wellbeing?
How do natural environments influence affective and cognitive processing for individuals and dyads?
Can we target self-referential processing to reduce rumination in people with depression or anxiety?
To answer these questions, we draw on behavioral, experience sampling/ecological momentary assessment, and psychophysiological (e.g., EEG, ECG) methods.
Location
Our lab is located in the basement of Science room 009.
Recruitment
We will be recruiting graduate students in the upcoming admissions cycle through the Social & Personality Psychology Area. We will also be recruiting undergraduate research assistants in the upcoming Spring semester.
