Chiu-Shui Chan received his M.Arch from the University of Minnesota and his PhD in Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University. He is Professor Emeritus of Architecture, having chaired the Digital Media Minor Program and been affiliated with the Human-Computer Interaction Graduate Program at the Virtual Reality Applications Center. He coordinated the China Exchange Program with Tongji University, Southeast University, Tianjin University, Wuhan University, and established a dual degree with Lanzhou Jiaotong University. He has developed various virtual models to study design cognition, visual perception, and the applications of virtual reality in architecture. His published books, journal articles, conference proceedings, and research projects are available in his CV. Currently, he has been recruiting and supervising students for the Rome Summer Design Program (2019–2024).
