I am a cardiovascular exercise physiologist and physical activity epidemiologist. I am interested in mitigating cardiovascular disease risk through the effects of physical activity and exercise on inflammation, vascular function, and cardiovascular control in populations with various forms of disease and chronic conditions. Specifically, I am focused on the effects of physical activity/exercise on mitigating cardiovascular disease risk in cancer survivors from a population, large cohort data analysis perspective, as well as using lab-based mechanistic studies. My work utilized non-invasive vascular techniques to assess heart function, blood flow, artery stiffness, and vascular function.

Outside of the lab, I obtain my physical activity by chasing around 2 young kids, enjoy diving into a non-academic book when I find the time, taking a nap, beating my husband in all games, putting 1000+ piece puzzles together if I can find a space where my children won't destroy it before its done, and doing house projects.

Current courses taught:
KIN358, Exercise Physiology
HS464/564, Physical Activity Epidemiology
