George Washington Carver Program

For eight weeks students are matched with faculty mentors and have the opportunity to conduct research in areas that interest them. Students will engage in research on a faculty-led team, participate in weekly seminars, social, cultural, and educational activities, tours on and off campus, and complete a final report. Students receive a stipend,room and board and round-trip travel to and from Iowa State University. Students live on campus and have resident assistants available in evenings and on weekends for support.

the past couple of weeks that we have been here were fun,mostly on the weekends we have been doing numerous of activities, we have been to Des Moines for science center, botanical gardern, Iowa Cubs game, IMAX theater,Jordan Creek Mall, horseback riding at the Boone YMCA camp ,Iowa State Capital Tour, canoeing the Des Moines River, Ledges State Park, and the Des Moines Zoo.
