Lu Yen

Hi, I’m Lu and I’m a PhD student in veterinary microbiology. I had long been interested in infectious diseases in food animals during vet school, and had the opportunity to join Dr. Gimenez-Lirola and Dr. Nelli’s group, where I got to study the pathogenesis of swine enteric coronaviruses and be involved in multiple projects with swine viral disease research and diagnostics. Currently, I’m working on the development and implementation of the porcine enteroid model to study porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) pathogenesis. Outside work, I enjoy cooking, exploring the world, and going out on walks with my dog.
