Position
  • Distinguished Professor
Our research is focused on diterpenoids, which are a large group of natural products found in both plants and microbes. The work spans a range of disciplines, from basic biochemical investigations of enzyme function and mechanism, as well as metabolic pathways and networks, to ecological studies of the role of the resulting diterpenoids in plant-microbe interactions. The studies use a wide variety of approaches, ranging from generating from atomic level structrures by X-ray crystallography to investigation of tritrophic plant-bacteria-fungal interactions at a multi-organism level.

Area of Expertise: Diterpenoid natural products
