Lilly's project, which began as a collaboration with 2022 AGL graduate Elle Schleisman, used cores from a dozen trees at the Whiterock Conservancy (Coon Rapids, IA) and Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge (Prairie City, IA) to explore the sensitivity of black walnut trees (Juglans nigra) to water availability in both upland and floodplain forests.

See Lilly's poster here for more details. Congrats to Lilly on a well-done project!
