Pete kicked off a webinar for the Iowa Nutrient Research Center (INRC) Regional Collaborative Research series on November 12, 2025. The focus of the webinar was a two-stage channel project in Polk County, Iowa. A mile-long reach of a drainage ditch that feeds into the Chichaqua Bottoms Greenbelt county park is in the process of being converted into a two-stage ditch as a part of a nutrient reduction study. The study is led by Sara McMillan (EBOW lab), in partnership of Pete (AGL), Antonio Arenas (CCEE), Keith Schilling (Iowa Geological Survey), Polk County Conservation, and JEO Consulting. The study is funded by the INRC. Check out a recording of the video here: https://youtu.be/M3scs4n38ew?si=RzNVAoIsZB5r4Us3 or view it below!
