Jade Allen

Position
  • Graduate Assistant
Jade is a second-year Master's student in environmental science. Jade's research includes applying ArcGIS Pro, python, and remote sensing methods to analyze river dynamics. As a research assistant in the Applied Geomorphology Lab, she uses an Iowa State-developed tool, the Aerial Imagery Migration Model, which requires multi-year aerial imagery, among other sources, to detect and quantify streambank erosion. Her research project includes upscaling the application of the tool, evaluating the multi-reach effects of streambank stabilization structures, and a further understanding of phosphorous contributions from streambank erosion in Onion Creek, Iowa.
