Biochar is a charcoal-like substance made by burning agricultural and forestry wastes by pyrolysis. Biochar has the potential to mitigate climate change by sequestering carbon in soil, improving soil quality, and producing clean energy during the pyrolysis process. We are investigating if biochar can also be used to improve management of soybean soilborne diseases.
