Grace is a master's student in the IGPNS program at Iowa State. During her time as an undergraduate student, Grace gained experience in several research labs, including a microbiology lab, the Rowling Lab in the FSHN Department, and finally the Buckingham-Schutt Lab, where she discovered her passion for public health and community research. Grace is currently working on the Iowa Produce Prescription Program, which strives to improve health equity by increasing access and affordability to fresh fruits and vegetables for low-income individuals. Her focus is creating and implementing a supplemental nutrition education intervention for the program, grounded in Self Determination Theory, that improves participant’s social support, self-efficacy, and knowledge in a variety of food and nutrition-related topics.
