Kyaw Aung

I was born and raised in Burma and later educated in Taiwan and the United Sates. Growing up, I never know the existence of a scientific career. Through my journey, I was fortunate enough to have many great mentors, guiding and inspiring me to pursue a career in science.

I am broadly interested in understanding how plants harness intercellular communication to maintain homeostasis in the regulation of growth and defense. I now spend most of my time communicating with my lab members, community members, and funding agencies. In addition, I teach cell biology at undergraduate and graduate level courses.
