Bree Marmur is a Ph.D. student in the Environmental Science program at Iowa State University. Under the guidance of Dr. Jan Thompson her research focuses on bridging the gap between the biophysical and sociological aspects of stormwater management in urban areas. With a focus on small scale residential stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs), Ms. Marmur’s dissertation research investigates factors that affect the adoption of residential stormwater BMPs, the effect of these BMPs on both runoff quality and quantity, and the city-scale implications of the widespread distribution of these small-scale practices. Prior to joining the Environmental Science graduate program, Ms. Marmur received a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Grinnell College.
