Andrea Fondren

I am a fourth-year undergraduate student majoring in Biology. I participated in Turtle Camp as a high school student through the TREE program for 3 summers and as an undergraduate for 2 summers. During my summers at Turtle Camp - one of them on an NSF REU Fellowship - I was involved in research projects that included trapping aquatic turtles, habitat use by ornate box turtles (Terrapene ornata), and experimental manipulations of microenvironments to evaluate abiotic cues used by predators to detect turtle nests. In summer 2018, I participated in an NSF REU program in Costa Rica, where I worked on aquatic anoline lizards (Anolis).
