Lab receives funding from the Iowa Livestock Health Advisory Council

Last month, the Diaz Lab received funding from the ILHAC to support our research on viruses associated with Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD). The ILHAC is a “cooperative effort between Iowa livestock industry stakeholders, the State of Iowa and the ISU CVM”. 

Funding allocated to our team will be used to investigate the interplay between bovine airway cells and bovine alphaherpesvirus-1 (BoHV-1), aiming to understand pathogenic mechanisms and to design prophylactic or therapeutic interventions to prevent infectious bovine rhinotracheitis and BRD.
