Grass-Forb seed ratios: are there tradeoffs between pollinator habitat and other ecosystem services?

A new prairie restoration experiment was established in March, 2020.  In 30 x 30 m plots, we have assigned 11 treatments that vary forb-grass seed ratios, from 100% forbs, through 90-10% forbs in 10% increments, to 100% grasses, with 5 replicate plots per treatment.  We are sampling bee visitation, plant diversity, and soil carbon accrual over time to test what the optimal grass-forb seed ratios should be for the best pollinator habitat, plant production, and soil C storage.  We are testing whether pollen limitation is limiting to forb persistence over time in subplots.
