Dr. Sadia Anjum Ashrafi is an assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Iowa State University. Her research interests include non-pharmacological approaches such as behavioral, psychological, and community-based interventions to prevent and manage chronic diseases among high-risk populations. She is also interested in integrating community health workers in the chronic disease care model. Her current research focuses on investigating and designing tailored physical activity and psychological interventions to promote cardiovascular and kidney health outcomes. She completed her PhD at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her postdoctoral training at the University of Illinois Chicago. Outside her professional work, she enjoys cooking, singing, painting, and spending time with her family.
